Electronic Variable Speed Wood Lathe - WL-590VS

The WL-590VS Variable Speed Wood Lathe is a heavy-duty machine designed for serious woodturners requiring exceptional capacity, power and versatility. Its unique motorised sliding bed allows the working distance between centres to increase from 508mm up to 1016mm, while also increasing the swing capacity from 590mm up to an impressive 794mm for large bowl and platter turning.

Powered by a 4HP input / 3HP output motor, the WL-590VS features electronic variable speed across three selectable ranges from an ultra-low 20rpm through to 3850rpm, providing excellent control for everything from large, unbalanced blanks through to high-speed finishing work. The heavy-duty 248kg construction provides the mass and rigidity required to help minimise vibration during demanding turning operations.

A 36-position indexing head, MT2 headstock and tailstock tapers, 120mm tailstock ram travel and a large 1" tool rest post further enhance its versatility. The conveniently positioned magnetic control box can be relocated along the bed, keeping the main operating controls within easy reach of the operator.
