Electronic Variable Speed Wood Lathe - WL-475VS

The WL-457VS Wood Lathe is a solid, compact machine designed for serious woodturning applications where power, capacity and versatility are required.

Built around heavy-duty cast iron components, the WL-457VS provides excellent rigidity and stability to help minimise vibration during operation. Despite its compact footprint, the lathe offers an impressive 457mm swing over the bed and 610mm working distance between centres, making it equally suited to spindle turning and larger bowl work.

Power is supplied by a 2.5HP input / 2HP output motor, driving the spindle through a 3-range pulley system combined with electronic variable speed control. This provides strong low-speed torque for larger workpieces while still offering the higher spindle speeds required for smaller components and finishing work.

The conveniently positioned control panel incorporates a digital RPM display, variable speed dial, start control and emergency stop, allowing the spindle speed to be easily adjusted to suit the workpiece and application. A magnetic mounting back allows the control panel to be repositioned on the machine and placed within convenient reach of the operator while working.

A swivel headstock with spindle lock and 24-position indexing system further increases flexibility for bowl turning, decorative work and other specialised applications.

The tailstock incorporates convenient built-in accessory storage, keeping commonly used centres and accessories organised and close at hand.

Supplied standard with a 12" tool rest, 3" faceplate, four-prong drive centre and revolving tail centre, the WL-457VS combines a compact footprint with impressive turning capacity, variable speed control and heavy-duty construction for demanding woodturning projects.
