Powerful and portable, the UniMig VIPER 182 Multi-Function Inverter MIG/MMA Welder is the ultimate tool for DIY use or light industrial applications.
The UniMig VIPER 182 Multi-Function Inverter MIG/MMA Welder (Order Code: W244) features the latest IGBT (Insulate Gate Bipolar Transistor) inverter technology. It has a smooth, stable arc characteristic, delivering more efficient performance with greater control for professional-level results.
In MIG mode, the VIPER 182 has a stepless voltage dial and wire feed adjustment, making for easy set-up of welding parameters. Moreover, it allows welding with both gas-shielded and gasless wire applications running up to 0.9mm. The MIG-welding current range is 30 - 180 amps.
Conversely, in MMA mode, the excellent arc characteristics of the VIPER 182 are enhanced by hot start and arc force. It will run general purpose low hydrogen, cast iron and stainless steel electrodes up to 3.2mm with high-quality results. The MMA-welding current range is 30 - 160 amps.
Accommodating wire spools 5kg in size, this UniMig’s Wire Inch gives easy feeding of the wire during set-up without gas wastage. Burn-back leaves the wire out so that it can be adjusted by the operator ready for the next weld.
The multi-function welder comes complete with UniMig’s 3-metre Suregrip Series SB15 MIG Torch featuring a Euro-connector, as well as a UNI-FLAME Twin Gauge Argon Regulator. There’s a 2-metre gas hose as standard with this model, plus large 3550 twist-type connectors that won’t burn out.
Not compromising on quality, the VIPER 182 features the same all-metal wire drive system used on some of UniMig’s high-spec RazorWeld models.
A 10amp plug is fitted as standard and with a 240v single-phase primary input voltage this welding unit is tolerant to variable power supply. Its duty cycle is specified as 10% @ 180 amps.
In the name of electrical/environmental safety protection and performance, the VIPER 182 is designed and built to specifications compliant with the AS/NZ 60947.1 Standard and meets the IP21S Rating. It’s fitted with VRD (Voltage Reduction Device) in addition to thermal overload protection for enhanced operator safety.
